Newyork Yankees: 2009, 2010 and 2011 Situation [Brief Overview]

New York Yankees play in the American League East Division and originate from the Baltimore but later moved to New York. In 2009 the Yankees moved to their new home playing fields “Yankee Stadium”. The Yankees claim the most dedicated fan base in the whole USA. This claim actually proves right when you see thousands of these fans crammed into the stadium when the Yankees are swinging the bat and pitching the ball.

This club is also known for its notorious reputation of extravagant expenditure in pursuit of winning. The Yankees are so much into PR and marketing stuff, that they launched their YES Network TV channel for the sole purpose of feeding their fans with inside scoops, scores etc. This TV station now is the back bone of Yankee running revenue generation. 13th July 2010 was a sad day for Yankees as their main owner, Mr. George Steinbrenner died because of a fatal cardiac arrest.

The fiercest rivals of the Yankees are perhaps the Red Sox and they will be playing against each other in 2010 season. Both these teams will compete in the start and at the end of the season meaning that nearly all Yankee and Sox fans will have a lot of treat to look forward to. The most interesting focus of this season will be the match between Dodgers, managed by Joe Torre, and the New York Yankees. The Yankees are of course the favorites but we will have to see whether Dodgers have got the guts to create an upset.

The Yankees are also carry some unique aspects associated to them. We are all in habit of naming these teams with their nicknames and it seems as if the Yankees have a whole lot of them. They are sometimes referred to as The Yanks, The Bronx Bombers, The Pinstripes, The Bronx Zoo, Damn Yankees and The Evil Empire. The last nick name is devoted to this team by their fierce critics due to their polarized reputation of going to “any extent” in order to win a game. Most of the fans refer to the New York Yankees as The Yanks and now some fans are even seen wearing “The Yanks” scribbled shirts to the games.

The New York Yankees can be considered empirical when it comes to high profile start acquisitions. Recently it came as no surprise that the Yanks were definitely interested in adding Dan Haren, the righ-hander heart beat of Arizona. It is difficult to say right now is Dan Haren is also interested in joining hands with the Bronx Bombers but we have seen that in the end money wins it all.

The bottom line is that New York Yankees will be looking to pursue championship glory and they will extend to any limit in order to achieve that.
